Privacy Policy
Last updated 25 September 2026
LexOrchestrate is a desktop application for advocates, run by Gagan Baghel (“we”). This policy explains what we store, where, why, who else sees it, and what you can ask us to do about it. It is written for the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
What stays on your computer
- The documents you add (PDFs, Word files, scans you import), in an encrypted vault on your own disk.
- An encrypted offline copy of your workspace, so Courtroom Mode works without a connection.
- If you connect your own Claude subscription, AI requests run through it from your computer.
What is stored on our servers
- Your account: name, email address and a securely hashed password.
- Your workspace: clients, matters, deadlines, calendar entries, notes, drafts, authorities, invoices and the settings you choose.
- The text of your documents, so you can search it and the AI tools can read it. Mark a document local-only and its text is not sent. Photographs of court orders taken with Scan are stored with their text, as a PDF.
- Usage counts (searches, AI requests) needed to apply the fair-use allowance, and an audit trail.
Our servers are provided by Convex, in the European Union (Ireland), with data encrypted in transit and at rest. Each workspace’s data is kept separate from every other workspace’s.
Who else sees what
- Indian Kanoon receives the words you type into judgment search, never your matter data.
- The e-Courts data provider receives the CNR numbers you look up or link to a matter.
- OpenAI receives the text an AI request needs (for example the judgment you ask it to analyse, or the passages behind a research answer) when you use the AI included in your plan. If you add your own AI key, that provider receives it instead.
- Anthropic receives AI requests only if you connect your own Claude subscription.
- Resend delivers the emails we send you (password resets, deadline alerts, the morning digest).
We do not sell your data, show you advertising, or use your matters or documents to train AI models. Please search the law rather than your client’s confidential facts: search words go to Indian Kanoon.
How long we keep it
We keep your workspace while your account exists, and you can set a retention period for activity logs in Settings. If you close your account we delete your workspace from our servers within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep a record. Documents in the vault on your computer are yours to keep or delete.
Your rights
You can ask us for a summary of the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, or to erase it, and you can withdraw your consent by closing your account. You can export your workspace yourself from the Export Center at any time.

Changes
If we change how your data is handled, we will update this page and tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
